Newquay Male Voice Choir are the group from which our volunteer members are drawn, on the understanding that they will get a great deal of additional singing. The full choir meet on Wednesday evenings at 7.00pm in St Michael’s Church, Newquay, for their rehearsal with Musical Director Richard Braebrook and accompanist Simone Maier. Oll an Gwella meet at 7.00pm on a Thursday evening for their acapella rehearsal.
Audio Studio 4 is a small studio unit in Newquay run by Karel who is a very helpful and supportive sound engineer. This studio is where we recorded our 2nd charity CD “All the best” by Oll an Gwella allowing us to keep production costs to a minimum. With support from Newquay Lions we have been able to pass on significant funding (now over £12,500) to CBB.
Treviglas Community College (now Treviglas Academy) music team led by Steve Mildenhall, hosted, recorded and produced Oll an Gwella’s 1st Charity CD entitled “Working with Amateurs” in their Sound Studio as part of a Work Experience programme for Advanced Students studying music. This support for production costs enabled us to pass £1,200 to Cornish Cancer Charities.
